Jack Ma – Alibaba founder richest person in China

The Hurun Report shows that Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba is now the wealthiest person in China with his record listing over the market.   With a fortune of $25bn, Mr Ma has succeeded in forming part of the elite and closed group with an internet based business outpacing property tycoons.   The second on the list is Mr. Wang Jianlin with his real estate and entertainment fortune which accounts to $24.2bn.   China has 5 of the richest internet billionaires which includes Chinese search group Baidu and online retailer JD.com.   Commenting on the report, Rupert Hoogewerf, Hurrun Report’s chairman claims that China has taken a strong stance into the entrepreneurial spirit.   "Jack Ma is the 11th Number One we have had in China in the last 16 years, showing the dynamism of the Chinese economy and a stark reminder of the growth potential that is being realised in the emerging markets".   Much focus has been put on the Hurrun Report due to its status in the market with 16 years of existence.
